Document issued
The validity of reference calibrations in laboratory medicine is certified by the medical reference measurement certificate, issued by the reference measurement laboratory that performed the assessment.
What the certificate guarantees
The medical reference measurement certificate guarantees that the values it contains, the indication of a measuring instrument, or the value of a measurement standard refer to the corresponding SI measurement unit and that this information can be transferred to the measurements performed using them.
What the certificate does NOT guarantee
The medical reference measurement certificate does not guarantee that the instrument is used correctly and does not provide information on the uncertainty of the measurement performed.
