The ISO 14001 Standard represents the cornerstone in the sphere of voluntary international standardization in the environmental field. Its development has been a substantial achievement, the first step for then establishing the ISO/TC 207 and the subcommittee ISO SC1 on environmental management systems.
The standard has been extensively applied worldwide by hundreds of thousands of organizations. It provides them with the support to achieve and maintain legal conformity and defines challenging objectives for improving their environmental performances using a continual improvement approach.
The first version of ISO 14001 was released in 1996. It embodied the transition from a “command and control” approach to a proactive one by companies, the first seed for the future development of the green economy.
The 25° anniversary of the first publication will be an opportunity to bring together around a virtual table the main actors that contributed to developing the first ISO 14001 version and its following revisions, with a look towards the possible future scenarios.
The participation is free upon inscription. To register, please fill in the form here.
